ENTERTAINMENT

Broadway Bound Entertainment has presented extraordinary entertainment for over three decades including world-renowned music festivals, theatrical events, musical revues and star studded celebrity concerts. Our productions have encompassed virtually every aspect of musical entertainment, from jazz, blues, country, pop, star name concerts and musical theater. Our documentary films are featured on PBS and TCM.

Broadway Bound Entertainment works with each client, evaluates their entertainment needs, makes specific recommendations and then produces a turnkey event, covering every aspect of the production. Our entertainment projects range from a single concert to acclaimed festivals and theatrical events that last for years.

In many instances these entertainment productions have worked in conjunction with the visual arts, often incorporating them into the performance. We offer unique services in which various types of performance and visual arts are combined in entertaining and artistically meaningful ways.  This is a unique capability of Broadway Bound Entertainment.

MUSIC FESTIVALS

We have over thirty years experience producing unique music festivals throughout the world. We have produced more than 200 weeks of festivals featuring jazz, blues, big band, country, and pop since 1983.

Our stand-alone festivals are unique events, but we have also lent our expertise to the Oslo Jazz Festival, the International Jazz Festival Bern, the Newport Jazz Festival, the JVC Jazz Festival (New York) and others since 1986. During these years we have worked with well over 1000 artists including the most celebrated jazz, blues, R&B and country performers.

In addition to producing sold out events for over three decades, our festivals have also been used for live audio and video recordings. Forty CDs featuring the world’s most important jazz artists have been recorded at festivals we have produced and nearly a dozen films have used our festivals and facilities in New York as locations.

CELEBRITY ENTERTAINERS

We have produced hundreds of events that featured celebrity and award winning entertainers. The celebrity events range from transforming a deserted island in the Caribbean to a tropical paradise where, for a single night, two thousand people disembarked from three cruise ships to enjoy a unique star-studded Millennium celebration. We organized charity balls for Save the Children, presented Tony Bennett in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel, produced Bo Diddley at Webster Hall created a unique event at The Breakers in Palm Beach and for over a decade organized all the star entertainment for the annual World Cruises aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2  Royal Viking Line and Seabourne cruise lines.

The noted artists who have been filmed at our New York City studio include Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Clint Eastwood, Michael Feinstein, Herbie Hancock, Hugh Hefner, Dr. John, George Lucas, Arthur Penn, Andre Previn, Don Rickles, Martin Scorcese, Meryl Streep, and Eli Wallach. These films have been featured on PBS American Masters and premiered on Turner Classic Movies.

THEATRICAL PRESENTATIONS

We have produced theatrical presentations for three decades. These presentations fall into two categories: new productions of classic Broadway musicals and the creation of new musicals, shows and reviews.

In the 1990s we presented four Broadway classics, often working with the original stars and/or directors. Two of the most exciting were Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair, both under the direction of Tom O’Horgan, the man who introduced them to Broadway. We also presented Sweet Charity under the direction of Grover Dale and I Do I Do under the direction of Marge Champion.

In 2000 we established a resident theater company aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 and created five new shows and one revival for that ship. The revival, the legendary chestnut, Enter the Guardsman, was presented simultaneously aboard the QE2 and Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theater, the first time this had ever been done. The five original shows were The Wonderful Words of Sammy Cahn, in conjunction with the Estate of Mr. Cahn, Can’t Stop The Music, The Game Of Love, Hooray For Hollywood, and The Hit Parade
